LEARN MORE ABOUT TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS AMONG CAMPUS STUDENTS

A relationship in simple dictionary meaning is a way in which two or more people are connected. There are different types of relationships but our focus is mainly about toxic relationships.
A toxic relationship is the one that makes one feel uncomfortable or demeaned.
Toxic relationships unfortunately is a fast emerging phenomenon among students especially the campus students, it has led to negative consequences among the students involved in this type of relationship.
A study by Teenage Research Unlimited in the year 2009, confirmed that nearly one in three teenagers had experienced the toxic relationships.
How can one relationship be termed as to be toxic? Okay this is a question that can be answered in many forms and this may include:
         1. Dating violence.
         2. Sexual abuse.
         3. Threats of physical harm to a partner or                  self.
         4. No effort in the relationship growth.
Toxic relationship has led to serious consequences to a point of the students lover's killing each other or others being jailed but most of the victims get into mental health issues due to emotional stress.
It is so sad witnessing young people loosing focus and their dreams being shattered due to something avoidable.
According to Maryland based motivational speaker Carolyn Gamble who runs toxic relationships support group on Facebook says "If there is more negative in a situation than positive then something is supposed to change." This powerful statement can make a change to a person in a toxic relationship.
As a campus student I highly advocate to a hashtag " END TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS FOR BETTER FUTURE."
