POSITIVE IMPACTS OF KENYA PORTS AUTHORITY OPERATION REVERT

Kenya ports Authority is parastatal which is under state cooperation. It has been given the responsibility to regulate, improve, operate and maintain all scheduled sea ports in the Kenya's coastline.
It was formed in 1978 and it is under the government of Kenya jurisdiction with Kenya's ministry of transport being it's parent Agency.
Port operations which was mainly carried out mainly in Mombasa was moved to Naivasha by the former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
The action led to the coastal region leaders and local people to express their disappointment and accused the former president of what they termed as negligence to the source of economic income to the residents.
After the inauguration of the 5th president of Kenya H.E William Ruto, as he had promised during the campaign period that he was going to revert the Port operations to Mombasa for it was against the agreement made during the standard Guage Railway construction.
The revert of port operations to Mombasa made the residents to express their positive thoughts about the New government because the freight station economy was largely affected together with the truckers who serve as transporters, also people in the region who worked at the port lost their jobs.
The revert I'm sure will bring alot of positive impacts to the kenyan and coastal region economy.
